OK, so how on earth did it get to be this time of year again without me keeping track of it?
I was just thinking… “I’ve got too much on my plate right now to do tomatoes this year” and “Last year wasn’t as big as the year before” and “What on earth am I gonna do with another 5000 tomato seedlings again?” and “Does Chuck Norris really do his own stunts?” – you know, all the serious questions that keep us up at night.
Well, when push came to shove (and it only took a 5 minute conversation with the lovely Alison over at Rocky Gardens Fine Foods to sow the seed… heh), I decided: Yep, it’s tomato time again.
Some of you know me, most of you don’t, and whoever’s met me has probably forgotten! But that’s cool… this year, at the Don markets I’ll be doing it again.
I’m “That Tomato Guy” and have been for the past few years.
There’s a bit of a story about how the heck I got into this on the “About me” page (I think… it’s been a while haha!) So check it out if you want to know.
If not, just let it be known that while I certainly don’t consider myself any kind of expert when it comes to tomatoes, I do love a good experiment. And I don’t tend to do things by halves.
This is year 4.
So if you like to grow your own food, or you’re into preserves etc, then let me help you out with some seedlings. Because that’s what I do.
I’ll be doing things a little differently this year, in an attempt to reduce double handling and deliver a more custom and valuable product, I’ve reduce the number of varieties a bit… but I’ve picked out the best of the lot.
You won’t be disappointed.
If you’ve got a favourite variety, let me know in the comments so I can be sure to grow it if there’s enough interest.
Till then… I’d better get this show on the road.
