This is the first year I’ve grown this variety but I chose it because it is known for it’s resistance to the cold weather. Here’s crossing our fingers! The fruit is said to be a smooth, firm and orange/scarlet red colour. It’s a round shape and good meaty flesh would make it a pretty good candidate for sauces and chutneys. Time from transplant to harvest is approx 65-80 days, but it’s a vine so will continue to produce so long as it’s not hit by a frost when winter sets in. I’ve got high hopes for this variety because it seems to be another of the big producers and with the orange colour it may be a low acid flavour too. Here comes a sweet tomato chutney!
