The Super Sioux is considered a semi-determinate tomato variety. The plant grows tall (up to 1.5) like a vine but the branches are longer and the nodes fewer. The plant will produce all or most of it’s fruit at once (like other bush varieties) making it ideal for cooking/bottling for sauce. The fleshy meat of the Super Sioux, and the fact that there are so few seeds also makes it awesome for sauces. The fruit is large (approx 10-15cm) and plump, deep red with a thin skin. It is fairly acidic but I find it’s a great combination to the Roma in a sauce anyway. This plant needs time to mature, but grows quickly and is hardy so it’s in my top 3 picks for best tomato to grow in Tassie.
