Oxheart Red is a timeless classic among tomato lovers. The large fruit has a distinct “heart” shape and traditionally red colour. These plants don’t grow quickly but they can get quite large over the season, so staking or caging is a must. The heavy fruit can grow as large as 15 cm but usually averages around 8-12 cm so they fit nicely on a piece of bread. 🙂 The flavour is full and rich, as you’d expect from a classic tomato with fleshy but also juicy texture. A bit of everything here. They’re useful in just about any dish, but they do take quite a while to grow and mature. Start early and give full sun and a rich soil with loads of compost and organic matter for best results.
