I was first given seeds for this variety from a lady last year (approx 80+ years old) who said she’d inherited them from one of her neighbours named Lena. Since then she always called them “Lena’s Yellow”. But they’re the same tomato as the Tasmanian Yellow (I’ve since found out). A medium size (5-7cm) deep yellow tomato with thick skin and sweet juicy flesh. Looks wonderful when sliced with it’s many seed cavities and bright yellow innards. I highly recommend trying out this variety as the yellow coloured tomatoes are known to have much lower acids but still has high levels of carotenoids and lycopene (antioxidants). Other than that it does taste great too 🙂 Eat em raw on sandwiches and in salads during the hot summer months.
